About Us
The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.
The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. The four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years: St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the Missouri Golf Association with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the Missouri Golf Association has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.

What We Do
Dating back to 1905, our Directors have devoted their time and effort to advancing the great game of golf in all corners of the state. With the help of its Member Clubs, the Missouri Golf Association works to keep the game great by providing the services described below to our members and clubs.
Statewide Championships
The Missouri Golf Association conducts several statewide championships each year. These include the following: Amateur, Women’s Amateur, Mid-Amateur, Women’s Mid-Amateur, Stroke Play, Senior Amateur, Women’s Senior Amateur, Senior Four Ball, Four Ball, Two-Lady Scramble, Pink Ribbon Scramble, Parent-Child, and Cup Matches. Under the Missouri Junior Golf Foundation (MJGF) we conduct all of our Junior events. These include the following: Missouri Junior Tour (15 events), Junior Match Play, and Junior Amateur. The MJGF also takes part in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches and the Junior Girls Four State. We also conduct a Senior Series Tour (18 events) and the Senior Series Ozark Cup Matches (Kansas versus Missouri). You can learn more about these events on the homepage.
Golf Handicap & Information Network (GHIN)
The Missouri Golf Association, in conjunction with the USGA, offers the GHIN (Golf Handicap and Information Network) Member Service, which is used by over 80 golf clubs in Missouri. GHIN currently services 65 State and Regional Golf Associations with over two million golfers.
Golf Genius Tournament Management
The Missouri Golf Association offers our AGA Member Clubs, using the GHIN system, the option to use the Golf Genius Tournament software at no charge. Golf Genius software is an innovative solution to help golf professionals save time, generate more revenue, and deliver exceptional golfer experiences.
Course Rating and Measuring
The Missouri Golf Association is authorized to rate and measure golf courses statewide in accordance with the USGA guidelines. This service is available to MGA Member Clubs. (within our AGA Jurisdiction)
Missouri Junior Golf Foundation
The Missouri Junior Golf Foundation is a non-profit corporation that was established in 1998. The Foundation also conducts all junior golf programs to bring the game of golf to those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play. Under the direction of the Foundation, we assist in collegiate golf events in the state. The Foundation owns the Ken Lanning Golf Center, which is a 9 hole golf course located in Jefferson City that was built for players of all ages and abilities so that everyone has the opportunity to play golf.
