Jonathan Tips, CC of Missouri, Head PGA Golf Professional and Mark Gardiner

Mark Gardiner 51 of  Mascoutah, IL wins the 2014 Senior Amateur Championship at The Country Club of Missouri in Columbia September 22-23 by 4 shots.  69-68 137 (-7 par). He won his first MGA Senior Amateur at age 50 in 2013 at Norwood Hills CC in St Louis where he won in a playoff against Ben Cantrell of Cape Girardeau.

Steve Groom, Wayne Fredrick and Jonathan Tips

Gardiner was paired in the final round with Steve Groom, Raytown and Ian Soutar, Cape Girardeau. Groom finished tied for third with Wayne Fredrick of Springfield. 71/71 142 (-2 par)

Jeff Johnson and Jonathan Tips

Jeff Johnson “JJ” of Ballwin also had two impressive rounds finishing Runner Up with scores of 73/68 141 (-3 par)  Johnson’s card shows an Eagle on #8, 7 birdies and 6 bogeys.

All four players will be competing in the upcoming MGA Cup Matches on October 11-12 at the CC of St Albans.
