JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (November 12, 2024) – The Missouri Golf Association is honored to announce its 2024 Players of the Year, recognizing outstanding achievements across multiple divisions. These golfers exemplify the depth of talent in Missouri, having distinguished themselves in both state and national championships.

Easton Johnson of Kansas City and Sam Migdal of St. Louis share this year’s title of Men’s Player of the Year. Johnson’s season highlights include a third-place finish in the Missouri Amateur Qualifier at Paradise Pointe Golf Course, a semifinal berth in the Missouri Amateur Championship, and a runner-up finish in the Missouri Stroke Play Championship with a three-round score of 6-under, 206. Migdal’s accomplishments are equally notable, advancing to the round of 32 in the Missouri Amateur, qualifying for both the U.S. Mid-Amateur and U.S. Four Ball Championships, and reaching the round of 16 in the U.S. Four Ball Championship alongside his partner, Joe Migdal (Ballwin). 

Lyla Louderbaugh of Buffalo and Reagan Zibilski of Springfield share the honor of Women’s Player of the Year, excelling in top-tier tournaments. Both tied for second place at the Missouri Women’s Amateur Championship with three-round scores of 1-under, 215, and each advanced to match play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur, underscoring the high level of competition in Missouri women’s golf.

Wayne Fredrick of Springfield claimed the Men’s Senior Player of the Year title with a season of consistent top finishes. His accomplishments include runner-up finishes in both the Missouri Senior Amateur and the Missouri Senior Four Ball with partner Brian Lovett (St. Louis), along with competing in the Missouri Senior Match Play and qualifying for the U.S. Senior Amateur. He also tied for 18th in the Missouri Stroke Play Championship with a three-round score of 1-over, 214.

Kathy Glennon of Wildwood secured the Women’s Senior Player of the Year title with a standout season, highlighted by a second-place tie in the Missouri Women’s Mid-Amateur, a victory in the Missouri Women’s Senior Amateur with a two-day score of 6-over 150, and qualification for the U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur. Glennon also competed in the U.S. Senior Women’s Open, showcasing her skill on both state and national stages.

Ian Lambert of Jackson earned the Male Junior Player of the Year honor after a standout season that included a victory at the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship with a two-day score of 9-under, 135. He also won the Missouri Amateur Qualifier at Dalhousie Golf Club, placed second in the Missouri Four Ball Championship with partner Carsen Silliman (Jackson), advanced to the round of 16 in the Junior Match Play Championship, and finished as runner-up in the Jefferson City Fall Classic.

Page Bowman of Springfield is recognized as the Female Junior Player of the Year. Her accomplishments include capturing the Missouri Female Junior Amateur Championship with a two-day score of 3-under, 141, advancing to the semifinals in the Junior Match Play Championship, winning the MGA Girls’ Shootout, and tying for 12th in the Missouri Women’s Amateur.

Each honoree’s dedication and skill throughout the 2024 season exemplify the spirit of Missouri golf. The MGA congratulates these players on their achievements and looks forward to their continued success.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
