SEDALIA, Mo. (July 15, 2024) – Sedalia Country Club hosted an exciting Missouri Junior Tour event today, sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail. A total of 93 junior golfers from various age groups competed for top spots in their respective divisions.
In the 16-18 Male division, Teagen Hull (Eldon) clinched first place with a score of 1-under, 69. Hull bogeyed holes 2, 3, and 4 but rebounded with two birdies and an eagle later in his round. Hagan Ritter (Macon) secured second place with a 4-over, 74. There was a four-way tie for third at 6-over, 76 between Carter Robinson (Sedalia), Camden Wilson (Kirksville), Sam Kliethermes (Jefferson City), and Jackson Marcee (St. James). Marcee won the chip-off to take home bronze.
Avery Wells (Eldon) emerged victorious in the 16-18 Female division, scoring 8-over, 78. Audrey Smith (Rolla) took second place with a 12-over, 82. Catherine Fallis (Columbia) and Maddy Larkin (Jefferson City) tied for third place at 14-over, 84, with Larkin securing the bronze.
In the 14-15 Male division, Lake Bennett (Linn) won with a score of 4-over, 74. Jackson Bennett (Eldon) and Kaden Massie (Ashland) tied for second at 7-over, 77, with Massie winning the chip-off for silver and Bennett taking bronze.
Due to dangerous heat conditions, the following divisions, which normally play 18 holes of stroke play, were shortened to 9 holes:
In the 14-15 Female 18-hole division, Gabby Vineyard (Kearney) and Emilee Sinnett (Jefferson City) tied for first with scores of 5-over, 40. Vineyard won the chip-off to claim gold, while Sinnett took silver. Haven Evers (Eldon) and Anna Boyd (California) tied for third place at 6-over, 41, with Boyd winning the chip-off for the final podium spot.
Graham Henley (Eldon) took first place in the 12-13 Male 18-hole division with a 1-over, 36. Houston Tiefenbrunn (Washington) finished second at 3-over, 38, and Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia) took third with a 6-over, 41.
The following flights played nine holes of stroke play:
In the 12-13 Male 9-hole flight, Briggs Smith (Warrensburg) earned gold with a score of 4-over, 39. Reid Hampton (Tipton) shot 10-over, 45 to take second place, and Grant Darr (Kirksville) rounded out the top three at 11-over, 46.
Drew Maze (Columbia) triumphed in the 10-13 Female flight with a 4-over, 39. McKenzie Martin (Jefferson City) and Ashtyn Shaw (Jefferson City) finished tied for second at 10-over, 45, with Shaw winning the chip-off for silver, leaving Martin with the bronze.
Hunter Brown (Washington) won the 10-11 Male flight with a 1-over, 36. Andrew Moss (Sedalia) took second place at 9-over, 44, and Silas Middelton (Sedalia) finished third with an 11-over, 46.
In the 8-9 Male division, Logan Knaebel (Columbia) won with a score of 1-over, 36, and Brett Benbrook (Sedalia) finished second at 4-over, 39.
Leona Hibbard (St. Charles) secured first place in the 8-9 Female flight with a 12-over, 47. Emerson Munzlinger (Columbia) and Reagan Sears (Columbia) tied for second place with scores of 15-over, 50, with Sears winning the chip-off for silver and Munzlinger taking home bronze.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.
The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club.
