WARRENSBURG, Mo. (June 13, 2023) – After four days of intense competition, Archer Schnieders (Jefferson City) and Emree Cameron (Nevada) emerged as the champions in the male and female divisions of the 2024 Junior Match Play Championship at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
Both Schnieders and Cameron navigated through two rounds of stroke play and three rounds of match play to reach the final round. Cameron secured a win in her division during the stroke play segment of the tournament.
The semifinal matches kicked off at 7 a.m. today. Schnieders dominated his match against Cooper Forth (Webb City), clinching a 6 & 5 victory. Meanwhile, Ethan Mustard (Lebanon) and Jack Spencer (Carl Junction) battled through 19 holes, with Mustard eventually coming out on top.
In the female division, Cameron faced Page Bowman from Springfield in the semifinals. This match saw three lead changes over 17 holes, with Cameron earning the win at 2 & 1. The other semifinal match saw KC Lenox (St. Peters) and Morgan Withington (St. Louis), with Withington securing a 3 & 2 victory.
The championship matches commenced at 12 p.m. Schnieders led his match against Mustard for most of the round, securing par on hole 14 to go 4-up. Mustard conceded on the next hole before his ball even reached the green, giving Schnieders the win at 4 & 3.
“It was a long week playing and walking the course multiple times, but making it all the way to the final match was pretty exciting,” Schnieders said. “I knew from the start of today that I should be proud of what I accomplished, and I just went out and played some more good golf and got the job done.”
Cameron’s match against Withington was more competitive initially, with Withington leading for the first two holes. However, Cameron gained the lead after hole 5 and maintained it for the remainder of the match, ultimately winning 3 & 2.
Cameron shared her thoughts on the win, saying, “The first few holes were a little rocky, but then I started dialing in. I holed out on hole 10, and I had two chip-ins and some birdie putts, so it felt good to just have a good day.”
In addition to her championship title, Emree Cameron earned an exemption into the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, California.
“It’s always huge being able to go to a USGA event just for the experience, and then I also know that I’m going to have friends there and teammates there. I’m just excited to go, play and have fun,” Cameron said.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (June 12, 2024) – The third day of the 2024 Junior Match Play Championship concluded at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg today, featuring intense competition and several notable victories.
Today, golfers competed in two rounds of match play. The top 16 golfers with the lowest scores from the stroke play rounds faced off this morning.
In the boys’ division, No. 9 seed Archer Schnieders (Jefferson City) secured the biggest win of the round, defeating Quinn Thomas (Hannibal) 6 & 5. No. 1 seed Anson Munzlinger (Columbia) and No. 2 seed Ethan Mustard (Lebanon) also achieved significant victories. Munzlinger won against No. 16 seed Dawson Schnieders (Jefferson City) 5 & 4, and Mustard also triumphed over No. 15 seed Ben Christian (Dexter) 5 & 4.
Several matches were closely contested, with one extending to extra holes. No. 3 seed Chayton Jordan (Rolla), 2-down through 15 holes, won the last three holes to defeat No. 14 seed Peyton Burbridge (Nixa). The Match between No. 5 seed Landon Barks (Poplar Bluff) and No. 12 seed Garrett McIntosh went to 19 holes, with Barks ultimately claiming victory.
Other winners in the boys’ division included Cooper Forth (Webb City), Jack Spencer (Carl Junction) and 2023 Junior Match Play Champion Jonathan Jordan (Rolla).
In the girls’ division, matches varied from decisive victories to nail-biting finishes. No. 1 seed Emree Cameron (Nevada) dominated her match against Kylee Hopper (Springfield), winning 7-up with six holes remaining. No. 2 seed Avery Mclaughlin (Town & Country) and No. 11 seed Morgan Withington (St. Louis) each won their matches 5 & 4, with Mclaughlin overcoming Mia Farrar (Blue Springs) and Withington besting Anna Bell (Poplar Bluff).
No. 7 seed KC Lenox (St. Peters) and No. 10 seed Makenna Kincheloe (Parkville) fought through all 18 holes, with Lenox winning 2-up. No. 3 seed Kate Ryan (Columbia) and No. 14 seed Audrey Duvall (Springfield) had a closely matched game, tied going into the 18th hole, where Duvall clinched the win with a four-foot par save to finish 1-up.
Additional winners in the girls’ division included Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City), Page Bowman (Springfield) and Brooke Inchiostro (Foristell).
In the afternoon, the eight winners of the round of 16 competed in the quarterfinals.
The boys’ division featured unpredictable matchups, with three out of four ending in upsets. The biggest surprise came when Schnieders defeated Munzlinger 1-up, sinking a 10-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to advance.
“It’s pretty cool to see someone that young play that good,” Schnieders said, reflecting on his match against Munzlinger. “He got me down early, then I won three holes in a row and got as much as 3-up. He battled back, but I got a birdie on the last to close it out.”
Forth dominated Barks 4 & 3, leading for most of the match. Mustard and Jonathan Jordan had a back-and-forth battle, with Mustard winning 3 & 1. Chayton Jordan initially led against Spencer, but Spencer made a comeback to win 2-up in 18 holes.
On the girls’ side, Bowman staged an impressive comeback against Inchiostro. Despite Inchiostro leading as far as 3-up by hole 6, Bowman evened the score by hole 12 and secured a 1-up position by winning hole 14 and maintaining it through 18.
“I started down. She was making a lot of putts. We were trying to be chill at the beginning and go up slowly. Then I made a par and she made a bogey on hole nine, and that’s where I feel like the momentum switched,” Bowman said.
Looking ahead to the semifinal round, she added, “I know my competitor, she’s pretty good. I’m going to try to be aggressive and start off steady, and overall just try to hit good shots.”
Cameron and Mitchell’s match was hard-fought, with Cameron prevailing 2 & 1. Lenox defeated Mclaughlin 4 & 2, and Withington triumphed over Duvall 5 & 4.
The final two rounds of match play will take place tomorrow to determine the male and female winner of the Junior Match Play Championship. Semifinal round play will begin at 7 a.m.
On the girls’ side, Bowman will face Cameron and Lenox will battle Withington. On the boys’ side, Schnieders will play Forth and Mustartd will compete against Spencer.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (June 11, 2024) – The second day of the 2024 Junior Match Play Championship has wrapped up at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
Golfers completed the second and final round of stroke play today. The top 16 golfers with the lowest scores over the two rounds have advanced to the match-play segment, which will commence tomorrow morning.
Two rounds of match play are scheduled for tomorrow. The 16 qualifiers will compete head-to-head in pairs, with only the winners advancing to the evening round.
In the male division, Anson Munzlinger (Columbia) led the field with a combined score of 3-under-par, 137 (67, 70). Munzlinger recorded 10 birdies over the two rounds.
“I would say putting went well this week. Hit some decent chip shots, but putting helped me get through,” Munzlinger said. “I just learned that this course is tough. You’ve got to play smart, and you’ve got to take the driver out of your hands on a few holes.”
Looking ahead to match play, Munzlinger added, “I learned for match play you’ve got to hit greens and put it in play, that’s the main thing. The greens are firm. You can’t always blame it on the green, but learn from it and play.”
Ethan Mustard (Lebanon) secured second place in the stroke play portion at even par, 140 (69, 71). Tied for third at 2-over, 142 were Chayton Jordan (Rolla) (69, 73) and Ian Lambert (Jackson) (68, 74).
A competitive playoff determined the final spot in the round of 16, with Jackson Trout (Chillicothe), Hagan Ritter (Macon), Brevan Burkett (Kansas City) and Dawson Schnieders (Jefferson City) vying for the position. On the third playoff hole, Schnieders birdied to clinch the last match play spot.
The additional male golfers advancing to match play are Landon Barks (Poplar Bluff), Jack Spencer (Carl Junction), Will Boyd (St. Louis), Quinn Thomas (Hannibal), Archer Schnieders (Jefferson City), Jonathan Jordan (Rolla), Owen Buerke (Springfield), Garrett McIntosh (Columbia), Cooper Forth (Webb City), Peyton Burbridge (Nixa), and Ben Christian (Dexter).
In the female division, Emree Cameron (Nevada) posted the lowest score from rounds one and two with an 11-over-par, 151 (79, 72). Cameron earned four birdies over the two rounds.
“On the first day, it was a little rocky. I missed a few putts and had some errors on the course, and then today, I definitely fixed those and my game was more on,” Cameron said, reflecting on her performance.
She also shared her thoughts on the upcoming match play, saying, “Match play has a lot of strategy, and I’ve played a lot of match play before. It’s normally turned out good for me, so I’m just going to use the knowledge I know.”
Avery McLaughlin (Town and Country) (82, 72) and Kate Ryan (Columbia) (77, 77) tied for second place at 14-over, 154. Close behind in fourth place was Page Bowman (Springfield) at 15-over, 155 (83, 72).
The female golfers advancing to match play also include Brooke Inchiostro (Foristell), Anna Bell (Poplar Bluff), KC Lenox (St. Peters), Annabelle Bush (Weldon Spring), Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City), Makenna Kincheloe (Parkville), Morgan Withington (St. Louis), Reece Nimmo (Warrensburg), Grace Tiedemann (Rogersville), Audrey Duvall (Springfield), Mia Farrar (Blue Springs) and Kylee Hopper (Springfield.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (June 10, 2024) – The Missouri Golf Association’s 24th annual Junior Match Play Championship teed off today at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
Participants competed in the first round of 18-hole stroke play, with the second round scheduled for tomorrow.
The top 16 boys and girls golfers will advance to match play on Wednesday. Any ties will be resolved immediately following stroke play with a hole-by-hole playoff.
Leading the boys’ division is Anson Munzlinger (Columbia), who shot a 3-under-par, 67. Munzlinger finished second in the stroke play portion of last year’s Junior Match Play Championship. Close behind is Ian Lambert (Jackson) with a score of 2-under, 68. Ethan Mustard (Lebanon) and Chayton Jordan (Rolla) are tied for third place, each shooting 1-under, 69.
In the girls’ division, Kate Ryan (Columbia) leads with a 7-over-par, 77. Ryan achieved the third-lowest score in the stroke play portion of the 2023 Junior Match Play Championship. Tied for second place at 9-over, 79 are Emeree Cameron (Nevada) Brooke Inchiostro (Foristell), Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City) and Anna Bell (Poplar Bluff) .
