CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (June 5, 2024) – The Missouri Amateur Championship Qualifier at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau saw an impressive performance today as Ian Lambert (Jackson) delivered the low score of 1-under, 71.

In a tight competition for the second-lowest score, Cameron Jackson (Poplar Bluff) and Carson Silliman (Jackson) both shot even par, 72.

A total of seven players, along with two alternates, have successfully qualified for the 117th annual Missouri Amateur Championship. This event will be held at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph from June 25-30. The cut to qualify was even par, 72.

Five players with a score of 2-over, 74 competed in a playoff for the final four slots. Ultimately, Case Englehart (Jackson), Todd Obergoenner (Cape Girardeau), Alexander Wiseman (Poplar Bluff) and Brad Thielemier (Poplar Bluff) secured their spots in the championship. Ben Christian (Dexter) has been named the first alternate, and Samuel Huskey (Perryville) the second alternate.

Today’s qualifier was initially scheduled to take place at Westwood Hills Country Club in Poplar Bluff. However, due to adverse weather conditions last week, the course was deemed unplayable. The MGA extends its gratitude to Dalhousie Golf Club for graciously hosting the event on short notice.
