FINAL RECAP

COLUMBIA, Mo. (May 23, 2024) – The final round of the 26th annual Two Lady Scramble concluded today at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. The tournament featured 30 teams divided into four flights, with the Championship flight being the most competitive.

In the Championship Flight of nine teams, Mindy Coyle (Columbia) & Stephanie Priesmeyer (Columbia) secured first place with two strong rounds for a score of 27 under, 117 (59, 58). The winning duo achieved 23 birdies and two eagles over the two rounds. 

The team of Tierney Baumstark (Columbia) & Rylie Andrews (Chesterfield) earned second place after firing 14 under, 58, in round one for a total score of 23 under, 121 (58, 63). The mother-daughter duo of Sara & Kiser Pannier (Sedalia) took third place, earning a gross score of 21 under, 123 (62, 61).

The teams of Becky Haulotte (Sedalia) & Gail Jackson (Sedalia) and Janis Clemens (Sedalia) & Sherry Kempton (Sedalia) tied for the lead in Flight A with a score of 4 under, 140. Donna Whittaker (Scottsdale) & Connie Cook (Springfield) were close behind in third place, finishing at 3 under, 141 (67,74). 

In Flight B, Stephany Powell (Springfield) & Barbara Blankenship (Jefferson City) took the top spot with a gross score of 1 under, 143. Marianne Ferris (Jefferson City) & Anne Heitkamp (Columbia) followed in second place with a total score of 1 over, 145.  Julie Bochat (Holts Summit) & Rebecca Haskamp (Jefferson City) shot 2 over, 146, taking third place. 

Finally, the teams of Susan Van Horn (Sedalia) & Brenda Ward (Sedalia) and Barb Ludy (Jefferson City) & Deanna McKay (Jefferson City) tied for the win in Flight C with a gross score of 11 over, 155. Peg Eddy (Marshall) & Cindy Schroeder (Marshall) finished in third at 12 over, 156 (78, 78).

DAY 1 RECAP

COLUMBIA, Mo. (May 22, 2024) – Day one of the 2024 MGA Two Lady Scramble Tournament concluded today at the Club at Old Hawthorne. On Wednesday morning, participants teed off in Columbia with tee times starting at 8 a.m.

Tomorrow’s final round will be divided into four flights based on Wednesday’s scores.

The top nine groups will compete in the Championship Flight. Tierney Baumstark (Columbia) & Rylie Andrews (Chesterfield) are in first place after shooting 14 under, 58. Mindy Coyle (Columbia) & Stephanie Priesmeyer (Columbia) are close behind at 13 under, 59.

Donna Whittaker (Scottsdale) & Connie Cook (Springfield) are leading the A Flight at five under, 67. Five other teams are trailing them in this flight.  

The teams of Kathy Beykirch (Sedalia) & Deborah Fillinger (Sedalia) and Marianne Ferris (Jefferson City) & Anne Heitkamp (Columbia) are tied for first in the B Flight at one over, 73. Thay are joined by five other teams in this flight.  

Peg Eddy (Marshall) & Cindy Schroeder (Marshall) top the C Flight with a score of 6 over, 78. Eight total teams are competing in this flight. 

Round two will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning. 

There will be an awards luncheon starting at 1 p.m. after the second round of play is completed.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
