JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Nov. 21, 2023) – The Missouri Golf Association will expand its female competition schedule in 2024 with the inaugural Women’s Match Play Championship. The new event will take place at Lake Valley Golf & Country Club in Camdenton from July 17-20, 2024.
This event will be open to female MGA members of all ages. There will be a Championship Division and Open Division and the field will be limited to 72 players.
“We are thrilled to announce the addition of the Women’s Match Play Championship in 2024,” said MGA Director of Competitions Michelle Parrish. “The MGA is committed to growing the women’s game and the addition of this tournament will provide another first-class event for our ladies!”
There will be a practice round on Tuesday, July 16 starting at 1 p.m. On Wednesday, July 17, the 18-hole qualifying round will take place. After Wednesday’s round, a cut will be made to the top 16 players in each division. The round of 16 and quarterfinal round will be on Thursday, July 18, followed by the semifinal and final rounds on Friday, July 19. The MGA will crown the first Women’s Match Play Champion after the final matches on Friday.
MGA members can register for the Women’s Match Play Championship on March 5, 2024, when registration for all MGA events will open. The MGA will share more information on the Women’s Match Play in the coming weeks.
