ROLLA, Mo. – Players looking to compete in the 116th Missouri Amateur Championship saw their final chance to qualify at today’s Last Chance Qualifier held at Oak Meadow Country Club in Rolla, Missouri. Out of 74 competitors, only the top four earned a spot in the field at the Missouri Amateur. Each player in today’s qualifier missed the cut at one of our previous five Missouri Amateur qualifier events.
Jared Jordan (Rolla) and Bryson Oots (Kansas City) tied for the lowest score of the day at two under, 68. Easton Johnson (Kansas City) followed in third place at one under, 69. These three players have all qualified for the Missouri Amateur Championship.
Both Todd Laney (Springfield) and Andrew Fallis (Columbia) shot par, 70, and tied for the next lowest score. With only one qualifying spot remaining, the two players competed in a playoff. Laney won the playoff, making him the final player in the Missouri Amateur’s field of 144.
Congratulations to the four qualifiers! Stay tuned to see how they do at the 116th Missouri Amateur Championship at Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Hollister, Missouri from June 20-25.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.
The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
