Final Recap

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The second round of the annual Mozingo Lake Invitational concluded today, June 6, 2023, at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park in Maryville, Missouri. The 36 hole stroke play competition ended today with the MGA crowning division winners.

Teagen Hull (Eldon) had two consistent rounds and was able to maintain his round one lead, winning the 16-18 Male division with a gross score of eight over par, 152 (76, 76). Jackson Trout (Chillicothe) wasn’t far behind and finished in second place with a total score of 11 over, 155 (80, 75). And two players tied for third place, both shooting 19 over, 163: Jacob Scott (Maryville) (86, 77) and Easton Brown (Rolla) (80, 83). Brown won the playoff, earning third place.

Hanna Maschhoff (Lake Ozark) mirrored her round one score and kept her round one lead, finishing in first in the 16-18 Girls group with a score of 12 over, 156 (78, 78). Alana Gilbert (Jackson) came in second place with a gross score of 15 over, 159 (81, 78). Rounding out the podium is Cailyn Auffert (Maryville) in third place at 33 over, 177 (86, 91).

In the 14-15 Male division, Talon Hull (Eldon) secured a narrow win with a gross score of 22 over, 166 (82, 84), followed by Chancen Jordan (Rolla) in second at 23 over, 167 (84, 83). Kamden Morlock (St. Joseph) had a very strong second round, propelling him into third place with a gross score of 30 over, 174 (96, 78).

Alayna Pargas (Maryville) was the sole competitor in the 14-15 Female division, and she finished with a score of 69 over, 213 (111, 102).

Colin Hoffmann (Maryville) improved upon his round one score to move him into first place in the 12-13 Male division, shooting a gross score of 17 over, 161 (82, 79). AJ Warren (Chillicothe) followed in second place at 25 over, 169 (81, 88), and Hudson Horn took home third with a score of 41 over, 185 (93, 92).

Two players competed in the 12-13 Female group, with Gabby Vineyard (Kearney) securing the win at 25 over, 169 (84, 85). Addyson Weinreich (Clarinda) took home second place with a score of 60 over, 204 (105, 99).

Lastly, Hudson Marcolla (Chillicothe) was the only player in the 10-11 Male division and played nine holes each round, finishing with a gross score of 23 over, 95 (47, 48).

Day 1 Recap

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The annual Mozingo Lake Invitational event kicks off the Missouri Golf Association junior season, and it began today, June 5, 2023, at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park in Maryville, Missouri. There are 41 players in this year’s invitational, ranging from ages 10 to 18.

The Mozingo Lake Invitational is a 36 hole stroke play championship open to boys and girls. Play began this morning with 7:30 a.m. tee times.

Teagen Hull (Eldon) is currently leading the 16-18 male flight with a score of four over, 47. Two players are tied for second place at eight over, 80: Jackson Trout (Chillicothe) and Easton Brown (Rolla). 

In the girls 16-18 group, Hanna Maschhoff (Lake Ozark) currently has the lowest score at six over, 78. Alana Gilbert (Jackson) is in second at nine over, 81, and Cailyn Auffert (Maryville) is in third place at 14 over, 86.

Talon Hull (Eldon) is on top of the 14-15 male division at 10 over, 82, followed closely by Chancen Jordan (Rolla) in second at 12 over, 84, and Jack Donovan (Gallatin) in third with a score of 14 over, 86.

Alayna Pargas (Maryville) is the sole competitor in the 14-15 female flight, and she finished the day with a score of 39 over, 111.

In the 12-13 male division, AJ Warren (Chillicothe) is leading the group at nine over, 81. Colin Hoffmann (Maryville) is right on his tail with a score of 10 over, 82, and Hudson Horn (Kansas City) is currently in third place at 21 over, 93.

There are two competitors in the 12-13 female flight: Gabby Vineyard (Kearney) is in first at 12 over, 84, and Addyson Weinreich (Clarinda) is in second with a score of 33 over, 105.

Finally, Hudson Marcolla (Chillicothe) is the only player in the 10-11 male group, and he is playing nine holes rather than 18. He finished the round with a score of 11 over, 47.
