Final Recap
EDWARDSVILLE, IL. (June 1, 2023) – The final round of the 25th annual Two Lady Scramble ended today, June 1, 2023, at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville. The tournament hosted 20 teams divided into four flights, the Championship flight being the most competitive.
Out of six teams in the Championship division, sisters Ella and Taryn Overstreet (Poplar Bluff) came out on top after a strong second round for a score of 23 under, 121 (62, 59). The winning duo saw 24 birdies over the two rounds.
The team of Camryn Swinfard (Jefferson City) and Elizabeth Johnson (St. Louis) earned second place after firing a six under, 66, in round one for a total score of 11 under, 133 (66, 67). Grace Stafford (Wildwood) and Jacie Pattengill (Cape Girardeau) took third place, earning a gross score of eight under, 136 (69, 67).
Rebecca Haskamp (Jefferson City) and Bridget White (Jefferson City) maintained their round one lead and won Flight A with a score of two under, 142 (73, 69). Becky Pecher (Weldon Spring) and Laura Schlegel (St. Louis) took second place after shooting three under for the day, for a total score of 144 (75, 69). Deborah Ferguson (California) and Jan Young (Jefferson City) had a great second round today to move up into third place, with a final score of six over, 150 (75, 75).
In Flight B, Josette Berry (Lake Ozark) and Jennifer Washington (Osage Beach) took the top spot with a gross score of 11 over, 155. Two teams tied for second place with a gross score of 14 over, 158: Pamela Lenhard (St. Peters) & Becky Balzraine (St. Louis) and Deanna McKay (Jefferson City) & Barb Ludy (Jefferson City).
Finally, Kay Tice (O’Fallon) and Alicia Anderson (Chesterfield) were able to secure the win in Flight C today with a gross score of 20 over, 164 (82, 82). The team of Connie Bredensteiner (St. Charles) and Marge Behrens (Troy) played a great round today and finished in second at 21 over, 165 (84, 81), and Carolyn Schroeder (Jefferson City) and Helen Bax (Linn) took home third place with a score of 25 over, 169 (83, 86).

Day 1 Recap
EDWARDSVILLE, IL. (May 31, 2023) – Day one of the 2023 MGA Two Lady Scramble Tournament has been completed. On Wednesday afternoon, participants teed off at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Tomorrow’s final round is separated into four flights based on Wednesday’s scores.
The top six groups will be placed in the Championship Flight. Taryn and Ella Overstreet are in first place after shooting 10 under, 62.
The teams of Debra McGinnis/Nancy Struckhoff and Rebecca Haskamp/Bridget White are tied for the lead in Flight A with a score of one over, 73.
Leading Flight B are Sherri Brown and Carol Stampley at six over, 78.
Kay Tice and Alicia Anderson are in the lead in Flight C with a score of 10 over, 82.
Round two will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
There will be an awards luncheon starting at 12:30 p.m. after the second round is completed.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.
The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
