JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Golf Association is excited to announce that Michelle Parrish has accepted the position of Director of Member Services & Competitions! Parrish served as Junior Golf Director for the MGA for the past two seasons, and we are thrilled to have her on our full-time staff.

“We are very excited at the MGA to have Michelle joining our organization on a full-time basis. We have seen her work ethic over the past seasons running the Junior Program,” said MGA President Wayne Fredrick. “That work, coupled with her knowledge of the game both as a player and coach, will bring a new and exciting expertise to the Missouri Golf Association as we continue to expand our footprint and support the great game of golf in the state of Missouri.”

In this position, Parrish will manage MGA Championships and one-day events, and will serve as the direct liaison for member clubs, committee members and member golfers. She will manage the Golf Genius Tournament Management and GHIN Admin systems, and will travel to several events throughout the season.

“I am so grateful to Scott, Wayne and the MGA Board of Directors for trusting me with this position at the MGA,” Parrish said. “I’m beyond excited to get started with such an incredible association and help it continue to grow and become one of the best golf associations in the country. I can’t wait to see everyone this summer!”

Parrish previously served as the head coach for the men’s and women’s golf teams at Columbia College, and then as an assistant coach for the Mizzou women’s golf team.

ABOUT MGA:

The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri. The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
