POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. – Today, Sept. 13, 47 senior golfers competed in a Senior Series event held at Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Golfers teed off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start looking to shoot the lowest score in a round of stroke play.
Senior Series events are open to golfers who are members of the MGA and 50 years of age or older. Competitors compete in flights based on their age as of April 18, 2022.
Competition was stiff in the 64 and Under Open flight, with David Pfeil (Eureka) coming out on top with a score of two over, 72. Three players tied for second place at three over, 73: Tim Holmes (Springfield), Troy Bell (Poplar Bluff) and John Shock (Poplar Bluff).
Herb Sandker (Hermitage) won the 65 and Over Open flight after shooting three over, 73. Robert Trittler (Wentzville) and Dennis Osborne (Ballwin) tied for second place with a score of seven over, 77.
Mike Cochrane (Cape Girardeau) was the winner of the 64 and Under Net flight with a score of two under, 68. Mike Domenick (Festus) came in second at one under, 69. Finally, Ronald Wofford (Warrenton) finished in third after shooting two over, 72.
In the 65-69 Net flight, Harold Dishman (Strafford) was victorious with a score of one under, 69. He was followed by Arnold Bailey (Linn) and Dana Elwell (Nixa) who tied for second at even par, 70.
And lastly, the 70+ Net division was extremely close! Three golfers tied for first place with a score of three under, 67: Daric Elwell (Warrensburg), David Samp (Moberly) and Terry Souchek (Columbia).
