JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Today, Aug.8, 87 senior golfers competed in a Senior Series event held at Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Mo. Golfers teed off with a noon shotgun start looking to shoot the lowest score in a round of stroke play.
Senior Series events are open to golfers who are members of the MGA and 50 years of age or older. Competitors compete in flights based on their age as of April 18, 2022.
Winning the 50-54 Open flight, Brad Thielemier (Poplar Bluff) shot par, 72.
Lowell Catron (Carthage) won the 55-59 Open flight at 2 over, 74.
Jeff Spies (Ozark) was the winner of the 60-64 Open flight with a score of one under, 71.
Anthony Brown (St. Louis) won the 65-69 Open flight after shooting one under, 71.
Finally, Robert Trittler (Wentzville) and William Wunderlich (High Ridge) tied for the lead in the 70+ Open flight at five over par, 77.
Shane Talbert (Columbia) took home first in the 50-54 Net flight after shooting par.
Dane Cox (Republic) took home the title in the 55-59 Net flight with a score of one under, 71.
James Hickman (Fulton) was the winner of the 60-64 Net flight at one over, 73.
In the 65-69 Net flight, Arnold Bailey (Linn) came out on top after shooting three under, 69. Bailey shot the lowest score of the day out of all competitors.
Lastly, shooting par, 72, David Samp (Moberly) won the 70+ Net flight.
