SPRINGFIELD, Mo – 40 junior golfers competed in the opening round of the 4th annual Ozarks Junior Pitch, Chip & Putt Championship presented by the Missouri Golf Association Monday evening at Highland Springs Country Club.
The top three golfers from each division (6) advance to the finals taking place on Monday, July 18th. The winners then will be introduced on the 18th green following play on PCCC’s Championship Sunday on July 25th at Highland Springs Country Club.
The Missouri Golf Association is proud to support the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr. Pepper and the junior golfers competing.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director.
