JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (October 20, 2024) — The Missouri Golf Association successfully hosted the first-ever Jefferson City Fall Classic at Jefferson City Country Club this past weekend. The event welcomed male golfers between the ages of 14 and 18, drawing talent from across Missouri and its neighboring states. Competitors were treated to two challenging days of competition over 36 holes on the course.

Anson Munzlinger (Columbia, Class of 2028) claimed victory, shooting a total gross score of 6-under, 138 (69, 69). Munzlinger set the pace early, leading after the first round as one of only two players to finish under par. His first-round performance featured four birdies and just one bogey, highlighted by a clean front nine. Munzlinger continued his dominance during the second round, carding five birdies and securing the win.

Finishing in second place was Ian Lambert (Jackson, Class of 2025) with a total gross score of 3-under, 141 (70, 71). Lambert remained consistent throughout the tournament, holding second place after the first round and recording four birdies on each day. Earlier this year, Lambert earned the title of MGA Junior Amateur Champion.

Rounding out the top three was Gavin Hagan (St. Louis, Class of 2026), who finished with an even-par score of 144 (73, 71). Tied for fourth after the first round, Hagan’s strong second day, which featured three birdies and an under-par score, propelled him into third place.

The top three golfers were the only players to finish the tournament with scores at or below par, showcasing their skill on a challenging course.

The MGA would like to thank all the participants for making the inaugural Jefferson City Fall Classic a success. A special thanks goes to Jefferson City Country Club for hosting the event and providing an excellent venue for young golfers to compete.
