FULTON, Mo. (August 13, 2024) – The Missouri Golf Association held an exciting Senior Series event today at Tanglewood Golf Course. The par-72 course, which measures 6,964 yards from the tips, welcomed 77 senior golfers to a day of competitive play.
Tanglewood Golf Course, Central Missouri’s premier public golf facility, is renowned for its top-quality greens and picturesque setting. Designed by Jerry Loomis and opened in 1997, the course features rolling hills, zoysia fairways, and bentgrass greens, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.
In the 50-54 Open division, Brad Thielemier (Poplar Bluff) claimed first place with a score of 5-over, 77. Thielemier’s round included three birdies.
Bobby Godwin (Poplar Bluff) earned top honors in the 55-59 Open division with a score of 4-over, 76.
Dan Luebbert (Holts Summit) secured the victory in the 60-64 Open division with a score of 1-under, 71. Luebbert’s round was marked by four birdies and only three bogeys.
In the 65-69 Open division, Bobby McKay (Joplin) finished with an even-par score of 72, achieving the win with just one bogey during his round.
George Bowler (Warrensburg) won the 70+ Open division with an even-par score of 72. Bowler’s performance included two birdies and only one double bogey.
In the net divisions, Tim Borman (Kingdom City) led the 50-58 Net group with a score of 3-over, 75.
Doug Grooms (Camdenton) took first place in the 59-64 Net division with an impressive 7-under, 65.
Harold Dishman (Strafford) and Arnold Bailey (Linn) tied for first in the 65-69 Net division, both finishing with scores of 3-under, 69.
Garret Anielak (Hermann) won the 70-74 Net division with a score of 7-under, 65.
Charles Kaiser (Jefferson City) emerged victorious in the 75+ Net division with a score of 2-under, 70.
