FARMINGTON, Mo. – Today, July 18, 2023, a Senior Series Tour event was held at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, Missouri. A total of 58 senior golfers divided into flights by age competed in today’s round of stroke play.
Senior Series events are open to male golfers who are members of the MGA and 50 years of age or older. Competitors compete in flights based on their age as of April 17, 2023.
In the 50-54 Open division, Brett Newton (Lake St. Louis) and Brad Thielemier (Poplar Bluff) tied for first place, both shooting three over, 75.
David Pfeil (Eureka) had the lowest score in the 55-59 Open division at one under, 71.
Steve Groom (Raytown) won the 60-64 Open flight with a score of one under, 71.
Two golfers tied for first place in the 65-69 Open division, both shooting four over, 76: Dennis Osborne (Ballwin) and Tony Brown (St. Louis).
Finally, Robert Trittler (Wentzville) shot one over, 73, to win the 70+ Open division.
The following net flights have handicap strokes deducted from final scores.
Tim Borman (Kingdom City) won the 50-58 Net flight with a score of four under, 68.
Gary Eggen (Jefferson City) led the 59-64 Net division, firing four under, 68.
In the 65-69 Net flight, Kevin Kluge (Florissant) and Bob Rugen (Fulton) tied for the lowest score at four under, 68.
Daric Elwell (Warrensburg) came out on top of the 70-74 Net group at even par, 72.
Lastly, the 75+ Net group saw a tie for first place between Dick Halterman (Weldon Spring) and Charles Kaiser (Jefferson City), both finishing at two over, 74.
