LAKE OZARK, Mo. – Today, July 19, 2023, the Missouri Junior Tour held its ninth event of the season at Osage National Golf Course in Lake Ozark, Missouri. A full field of 90 junior golfers divided into age divisions played a round of stroke play.

The following flights played 18 Hole Stroke Play:

Max Templeman (Carthage) and Owen Derryberry (Carthage) tied for first place in the 16-18 Boys division, both shooting par, 72. In a playoff, Templeman won first place and Derryberry took second. Britt Coy (Carthage) took home third place with a score of one over, 73.

Sophie Hinds (Jefferson City) was the winner of the 16-18 Female division with a score of two over, 74. Avery Wells (Eldon) followed close behind at three over, 75, for second place, and Audrey Smith (Rolla) took home third at 16 over, 88.

In the 14-15 Male division, Grayson Moore (Jefferson City) earned first place at two over, 74. Chancen Jordan (Rolla) followed in second at five over, 77, and Michael Atnip (Jefferson City) won third place with a score of six over, 78.

Haven Evers (Eldon) and Lily Henley (Eldon) tied for first place in the 14-15 Female flight, both shooting 19 over, 91. A playoff was held, and Evers took home first place and Henley placed second. Claire Sinnett (Jefferson City) came in third with a score of 21 over, 93.

In the 12-13 Male 18 hole division, Eli Cummings (Eldon) won with a score of three over, 75. Hunter Hovis (Jefferson City) earned second place at seven over, 79, and Houston Tiefenbrunn (Washington) shot eight over, 80, for third place.

The following flights played 9 Hole Stroke Play:

Graham Henley (Eldon) won the 12-13 Male 9-hole flight, firing one under, 35. Gavin Brand (Jefferson City) shot par, 36, for second place, and Luke McGrath (Camdenton) took home third at two over, 38.

McKenzie Martin (Jefferson City) and Drew Maze (Columbia) tied for first place in the 10-13 Female flight, both shooting 10 over, 46. A playoff was held, with Martin finishing in first and Maze taking second place. Lily Caudle (Holt’s Summit) placed third with a score of 19 over, 55.

In the 10-11 Male division, Hunter Brown (Washington) came out on top with a score of two over, 38. Jagger Glaze (Eldon) earned second place after firing six over, 42. There was a tie for third place between Tyson Strupp (Columbia) and Eli Moss (Sedalia), both of whom shot eight over, 44. In a playoff hole, Moss earned third place.

Logan Knaebel (Columbia) won the 8-9 Male group with a score of two over, 38. Leyton Martin (Huntsville) got second place with a score of 10 over, 46, and Ralston Maupin (Fulton) was right behind at 11 over, 47.

There were just two competitors in the 8-9 Female division. Allison Knaebel (Columbia) shot 29 over, 65, to win first place, and Abigail Neeley (Wardsville) won second place at 31 over, 67.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club.
