SMITHVILLE, Mo. (June 12, 2023) —The second and final round of the 2023 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship at Paradise Point Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. took place yesterday. Congratulations to Bailey Burkett and Archer Schnieders on shooting the low scores of the tournament and being crowned the 2023 Missouri Junior Amateur Champions!
At the top of the leaderboard on the boys’ side, the 2023 Missouri Junior Amateur Male champion is Archer Schnieders (Jefferson City). After shooting five under par, 68, to tie for the lead during round one, he took control on the front nine during the second round, sinking three birdies. Schnieders finished the round with two more birdies on the back to claim the lead. He secured the top spot with a total gross score of 137, seven under par. After shooting one under during Monday’s round, William Boyd (California) shot six under par, 67, during round two to soar up the leaderboard and take home second place. Boyd birdied six holes during the second round to bring his total score to 138. Trigg Lindhal (Hermann) sat tied for first after Monday’s round of play with a score of five under, 68. Lindhal struggled on the front nine during the second round, but an eagle on hole 17 and birdie on hole 18 helped him keep his spot in the top three.
In the boys’ 14-15 division, Peyton Smith (Lee’s Summit) held onto his lead from the first round to win the flight. He shot one over par, 145. Smith had two solid rounds on both days of play to pull his first place finish with just one bogey today. Dawson Schnieders (Jefferson City) followed his lead, shooting a total of five over par, 149. Schnieders had an excellent first round, sinking three birdies to build his motivation on Monday. He struggled more during the second round but sunk a birdie on hole 12 to help push him to his second-place finish. Shooting six over par, 150, and coming in third place is Logan Lowry (Carl Junction). Lowry played a solid two rounds, shooting two over, 74, during round one and four over, 76 during the second.
On the girls’ side, Bailey Burkett (Kansas City) is the 2023 Missouri Female Junior Amateur Champion. Burkett was sitting in second place going into the second round of stroke play, three strokes behind the low score. She birdied three holes during her second round to pull ahead of her competition. A double bogey on hole 16 looked as though it could jeapordize Burkett’s win, but birdies on hole 17 and 18 helped secure her title with a score of three over, 147. After being the only girl to shoot under par on Monday, Jaylee Castro (Kansas City) shot five over par during the second round to bring her total gross score to 148. She placed second overall in the 16-18 Female flight. Hanna Maschhoff (Lake Ozark) shot four over par, 75, during round two to hold her third place spot on the leaderboard with a total gross score of seven over par, 151. Maschoff made three birdies during her second round to secure her spot in the top three.
In the 14-15 female flight, Anna Bell (Poplar Bluff) placed first after leading her division through the final round of 18. Bell struggled with a double bogey on the front nine, but pulled ahead of her competitors on the back half of the course. She finished 15 over par, for 159, after the two rounds of stroke play. Josey Roberts (Ozark) placed second at 18 over par, 162. McLaughlin made four birdies during the two rounds of stroke play. Hannah Mottert (Wentzville) shot 23 over par, 167, during the two rounds, bringing home third place.

Day 1 Recap
SMITHVILLE, Mo. (July 10, 2023) — Round 1 of the 2023 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship has been completed at Paradise Point Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.
At the top of the leaderboard on the boys’ side, Trigg Lindhal (Hermann) and Archer Schnieders (Jefferson City) are tied for first after the first round of the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship. Lindhal had four birdies throughout the 18 holes to finish with a score of four under, 68. He is currently neck and neck with Schnieders, who held the lead into the 17th hole with five birdies, until he bogeyed 17 and made par on 18.
In the boy’s 14-15 division, Peyton Smith (Lee’s Summit) holds only a one-shot lead over his opponents at even par, 72. Bailey had an steady back nine, making par on every hole after the turn. Jacob Clark (Lebanon) is sitting in second place with a score of one over, 73. Dawson Schnieders (Jefferson City) and Logan Lowry (Carl Junction) both shot two over par, 74, for a tie for third place going into the second round tomorrow.
On the girls’ side, Jaylee Castro holds the lead in the 16-18 division at one under par, 71. Castro had a strong back nine holes with three birdies and only one bogey to close out her round. Louderbaugh made three birdies on the front half to lead the flight through the first nine. Bailey Burkett (Kansas City) and Hanna Maschoff (Lake Ozark) are currently tied for second place in this age group, both shooting two over, 74.
In the 14-15 female flight, Josey Roberts (Ozark) is leading the pack with a score of six over par, 78. Roberts started off strong with one birdie and four pars on the front nine and kept her lead over her opponents throughout the rest of the round. Anna Bell (Poplar Bluff) is in second place with a score of seven over, 79. Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City) and Hannah Mottert (Wentzville) both shot 13 over par, 85, to tie for third after the first round of stroke play.
All golfers will play in round two of stroke play tomorrow at Paradise Point Golf Complex. Tee times will begin at 7:15 a.m tomorrow and go until 1:35 p.m. All golfers will tee off on hole one or hole 10.
