Hello, my name is Haley Bax and I am the new director of the Ken Lanning Golf Center. First off I would like to thank you for attending the grand opening of the Ken Lanning Golf Center. We had a wonderful turn out and everything went very smoothly! We hope to see you back here very soon.
As directer of the KLGC, I will be your contact if you ever want to hold an event here at Turkey Creek. As you know, we have built a new handicap accessible golf course that includes 9 holes that include features such as wheelchair accessible pathways and turf, shorter distanced holes, and the course is built fully on flat ground. We also have four lakes throughout the course that are stocked with fish and we provide handicap accessible docks. Any group can come and enjoy a fun day of golfing and/or fishing here at KLGC. We can even provide meals for an event. If you would like to hold an event with us you can contact me at hello@golfforeall.org or you can call (573)636-8994. If you know of any groups who would enjoy a day at our course I would love your feedback.
Here is a little information about me. I am currently a Senior at Mizzou and I am studying to become a Speech Pathologist. I was born and raised in Jefferson City and I attended Helias High School. I was interested in working through the KLGC because I have always been attracted to working with people who have special needs. In high school I worked at the Special Learning Center for a couple summers and and I have occasionally volunteered at the Special Olympics. Through these experiences I have come to love this line of work. Along with working at the KLGC this summer, I will be providing therapy to a young boy who has autism a couple times a week. Before this summer, I had been working at the Jefferson City Country Club for about five summers. When I was offered this position to become the director of the KLGC, I could not turn it down because of my background in working with special needs individuals and the opportunity to learn different skills and gain new experiences. I am also excited to work with the people of my hometown in Jefferson City.
