Riverside Country Club is a private, 9 hole facility with a pool and clubhouse located in Trenton, MO.

 

The Riverside Country Club golf course superintendent is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the maintenance of the course and the maintenance of equipment.  They also oversee the maintenance of other recreational facilities including eh swimming pool and picnic area, and the landscaping of the clubhouse.  Golf course superintendents oversee any construction projects on the course.  They also make sure the proper fertilizer; sprays and pesticides are used as needed throughout the course.   They may conduct soil tests to ensure proper soil nutrition. The superintendent should have an understanding of agronomy.  They also must understand the rules of golf and be up-to-date on federal, state and local laws on golf course operations.  This may include employment, safety and environmental standards and may require attending classes or seminars to further their education. They are familiar landscaping equipment (tractors, irrigation systems, sprinklers and mowers, etc…) The superintendent is responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and supervising seasonal employees to maintain the golf course.  Overseeing maintenance employees includes scheduling and designating specific jobs to employees.  The Superintendent prepares the annual budget for maintenance and any improvements to the golf course.  They must keep records for payroll, inventory, weather and pesticide use.

The course superintendent will report to the board/grounds committee and attend monthly board meetings.  The superintendent assumes responsibility for managing and maintaining golf course properties.

 

The position also includes the coordination and management of several tournaments throughout the golf season.  It would also be helpful to have someone who is well versed in social media to manage the clubs Facebook page and to help grow membership by reaching out to the community.

 

Qualifications include a degree in Turf Science or golf related field, experience/education in golf course maintenance, ability to delegate responsibility, problem solving skills, computer skills.

 

Salary commensurate based on experience.
