Another MGA inaugural event in 2012 was the Southern Junior State Cup aka Four State Junior Championship Cup Matches. The host for the inaugural event was the Arkansas State Golf Association. The Cup matches were held at Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  The States competing were Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Oklahoma.  Each team consisted of six male and six female junior golfers.

Representing the Missouri team for the males were: Miles Aduddell, Ian Barnes, Joey Johnson, Mitch Mather, Alec Palen, and Bailey Woods.  Jordan Chael, Brooke Cusumano, Taylor Hayes, Megan Keck, Laura Rowe, and Taylor Vick were the six females for Missouri.

The event started with a Four Ball and Foursome (alternate shot) matches on Saturday, and Individual Match play on Sunday.  The individual matches were girls competing against girls and boys against boys, while the Four Ball and Foursome matches consisted of a team with one male and one female. The Missouri team finished in 3rd. The emails the kids sent to Randy Bickel (MGA Director of Junior Golf) were heart warming.  “The tournament was so much fun! Probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing in a tournament.”
