SCHORGL WINS
Charles Schorgl is the 2012 MGA Senior Amateur Champion from Leawood, KS. Schorgl shot a very impressive 71-71 142 (par 71) over the last two days in chilly temperatures and tough wind conditions on Wednesday. Congratulations Charles! Scott Edwards, St Louis (2009 MGA Senior Amateur Champion) and Ben Cantrell of Cape Girardeau followed with a 36 hole round of 144. The golf course was in great condition and the players really enjoyed playing it.

Monday September 17th, friends of Dr. Fricke, the MGA and members of the St Joseph Country Club honored Dr. Bill Fricke with a plaque in his honor near the No. 1 tee.
The plaque reads:
“Now on the tee.”
Dedicated in Honor of Dr. Bill Fricke, Jr.
1947-2012
MGA Hall of Fame Member
In appreciation for his commitment to amateur golf in Missouri. The official starter for the Missouri Golf Association, and the honorary starter for the St. Joseph Country Club Men’s Invitational Tournament.

Mr. Schorgl received the MGA Championship trophy along with a special gift from Dr. Fricke’s family. He was awarded Dr. Fricke’s personal bronze golf statue. The last one that will ever be given at an event. (Dr Fricke gave all champions at all major MGA events with a golf statue over the last five years)

The field will consist of 120 players.
Monday – September 17 Practice round
Tuesday – September 18 First round, 18 holes
Wednesday – September 19 Final round, 18 holes

Membership Fee $30
Entry Fee $145 Entry deadline is September 4.
Entry fee includes a practice round the day before the tournament and the Championship rounds.
